The rest of the area remained with a dirt or grass surface until the 1960s.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>This square boasts one of the most beautiful views over the city of Lisbon and the river Tagus.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-advgb-tab advgb-tab-body-container\"><div class=\"advgb-tab-body-header advgb-tab-class-\">Pra\u00e7a Nova (New Square)<\/div><div class=\"advgb-tab-_5dadcc-81 advgb-tab-body\" aria-labelledby=\"advgb-tabs-tab1\">\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/castelodesaojorge.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/DJI_0082_1-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1415\"><figcaption><strong>Pra\u00e7a Nova (New Square)<\/strong><br>\u00a9 Sergiy Scheblykin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>Located at the easternmost part of the monument and delimited by a series of walls, evidence of how it was constructed suggests it dates back to the earliest stage in the fortification\u2019s history. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>In the northeast corner is the first section of the New or Fernandine Wall. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Pra\u00e7a Nova is also home to an area of pine forest and the archaeological area (the Archaeological Centre).
