Streamers, confetti, princesses, and superheroes have become iconic elements of modern-day Carnival celebrations. But what if we traveled back in time to discover how this festivity was celebrated in the Middle Ages? Did colorful confetti and streamers already exist back then?
Castelo de São Jorge invites you to explore ancient Carnival traditions and create masks inspired by the past. Dressed in their best costumes, visitors are invited to join this Medieval Carnival in a “World Turned Upside Down!
