In Castelo de São Jorge there was a muslim, later christian, Royal Palace where then Kings and Queens of Portugal used to live.
On Women’s Day let’s discover the life of Dona Maria of Castela, second wife of King Manuel, who lived in this palace for a significant part of her married life. She was known to be a woman of faith, culture, and creativity. What would a day in her life be like?
