Throughout the centuries, as diverse cultures left their mark on Lisbon, one of its intangible facets was its rich tapestry of religions.
From the worship of Mithras to the official establishment of Christianity as the Roman Empire’s official religion, to the construction of the first mosques and synagogues, or their subsequent consecration as churches, Lisbon underwent various transformations.
Through this visit, São Jorge Castle invites you to uncover the history of religions in Lisbon, in a place where kings were born, where they lived, and also died.
