Castelo de São Jorge is open 7 days a week, closing only 5 days a year: January 1st, May 1st, December 24th, 25th, and 31st.*
*On December 31st, the castle closes at 1:00 PM.
Winter Schedule (November 1st to February 28th/29th): Open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with last admission at 5:30 PM.
Summer Schedule (March 1st to October 31st): Open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with last admission at 8:30 PM.

Via Rua da Madalena, take the Lift of the Chão do Loureiro Parking Lot (enter through Largo do Caldas and exit on Costa do Castelo), through Costa do Castelo, Rua do Milagre de Santo António, Rua Bartolomeu de Gusmão, Rua do Chão da Feira and Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo;
or
Via Rua dos Fanqueiros, take the Castelo Lift (enter through Rua dos Fanqueiros n.º 176, exit on Rua da Madalena) and e o Elevador do Parque do Chão do Loureiro (entrada pelo Largo do Caldas e saída na Costa do Castelo), through Costa do Castelo, Rua do Milagre de Santo António, Rua Bartolomeu de Gusmão, Rua do Chão da Feira and Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo;
