Castelo de São Jorge is open 7 days a week, closing only 5 days a year: January 1st, May 1st, December 24th, 25th, and 31st.
Winter Schedule (November 1st to February 28th/29th): Open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with last admission at 5:30 PM. For safety reasons, access to wall-walks and towers close to the public at 5:30 PM.
Summer Schedule (March 1st to October 31st): Open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with last admission at 8:30 PM. For safety reasons, access to wall-walks and towers may close to the public between 6:00PM – 9:00PM. The exact closing time may vary depending on daylight.

Via Rua da Madalena, take the Lift of the Chão do Loureiro Parking Lot (enter through Largo do Caldas and exit on Costa do Castelo), through Costa do Castelo, Rua do Milagre de Santo António, Rua Bartolomeu de Gusmão, Rua do Chão da Feira and Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo;
or
Via Rua dos Fanqueiros, take the Castelo Lift (enter through Rua dos Fanqueiros n.º 176, exit on Rua da Madalena) and e o Elevador do Parque do Chão do Loureiro (entrada pelo Largo do Caldas e saída na Costa do Castelo), through Costa do Castelo, Rua do Milagre de Santo António, Rua Bartolomeu de Gusmão, Rua do Chão da Feira and Rua de Santa Cruz do Castelo;
